we got millionairs wasting money on sh*t they do not need or never wear the same pair of underwear twice and then you have people like us that need money to have what we need to help us to get around better ie meds, canes, chairs, ect.

and yet people can blow money on stuff that they can just donate to someone in need and get a damn tax write off.

It sucks to be poor and disabled.

Joonie: People who can blow money on needless things and toys and then expect a tax write-off for donated items are "GREEDY".

Here's something else to think about: The big corporations make "huge donations" on the behalf of their employees. Do the employees get the write-off on their tax return? NOT!

Also, the big retail giants make huge donations and get a tax write-off, too, but it's the consumer who made their donation possible. The consumer doesn't get that write-off either.

Well, if I keep going on and on and on someone will want to come along and knock me off of my pedestal.  Take Care

It does suck to be poor and disabled. If I wasn't disabled, I wouldn't be poor. Even working, making a good income, it was all swept away by the medical bills.

But during one of my worst times, this thought was given to me, "Poverty is a state of mind." Nobody can actually hold you in it no matter how much they try.

It is incredibly unfair and we have to change this system. It hurts everyone but those at the very top and it seems most of them have little compassion or understanding. We must raise our voices.

The medical system must change in this country. In the mean time, fill your life with those things that are of higher value than property -- the joy of your children's laughter, the hug of a good friend, a beautiful day. Let those things enrich your lives.

Hang in there. I know that you are down right now, but it is only temporary. You are going to bounce back up.
