Things are just getting better day by day.  Brett is being a real sweetheart.  Things are rolling along looking like we are going to get on top of our finances.  I got a paypal account for evreyone for Christmas - nothing extravagent but Brett and I found an amazing deal for a reef aquarium on Craig'slist.  The dogs and cats and fish are doing great.  I give Brett his antibuse every morning and he is doing GREAT.  We are excited about spending holidays with my family.  Christmas day has me a bit worried as there will be alcohol there but I am going to stick to Brett like glue and of course not drink myself.

My RA is feeling under control with pain meds.  I was supposed to go get blood tests and xrays this morning but I forgot to fast.  Tomorrow.  Everyone is happy around our house.  Amazing how life can change if it is just tweaked a little.  (Like my hubby not drinking :  )  Kelsey went to a church youth group/music thing last night.  I was really worried as she is older than any of them but she had a wonderful time and came home all smiles.  Colton already has a gf and loves his school.  Lots to be thankful for.  Brett and I are getting along fantastically.

Amazing how just a week ago life sucked and today I am filled with happiness.  I just wanted to share it with all my buddies.  HUGZ

I was listed on this board as gramma  now gramma1 I am soooooooooooo  computer illiterate

glad to hear all is going better roxy.any word about ssd yet? took me 24 months to finally go in front of judge and i will get it now.seems like they try to starve u out before they give it to ya. have aa good x mas and hope everything goes well .Lazy Day.  My big accomplishment is making mashed potatoes.  Everyone loves my mashed potatoes as I make them with garlic and sour cream.  After I took my Enbrel, I got sooooooooooo tired.  Does that ever happen to you?

Hey Lynn,  Funny thing is I woke up feeling great and kept asking everyone if I could help them with something.  Then I decided to take my Enbrel (against doctor's orders

Abby is a part of the family..  Don't you worry.  I took a picture tonight of her and Tyler and our cat Izzy and Kelsey my daughter all cuddled on the couch together.  I can't wait to post it.  Abby comes home everyday from her walk along the river and she is elated.  She goes every day.  She is pooped after all that running.  Tyler is much harder to wear out.  Abby collapses on top of someone after she has come to give my ears a good licking and thanking me for her new home.  She is so happy and has been very gentle with Chico since the "incident".  He is leary of her but no more mishaps.

I think the biggest problem is she has a hard time "holding it".  Last night I talked Brett into letting both her and Tyler sleep with us.  She is great.  She just gets in a ball but Tyler has to get between Brett and I and sprall out every part of his body.  Brett was good and put up with it all night but reminded me this is a once in a great while treat for me.  We have to keep our door closed so they don't sneak in bed with us, Abby is quite good at this.  I put the two of them to bed with a blanket on the couch each night when I go to bed.  So far, three days with no accidents.  Knock on wood.  She woke our son up at 6 am and talked him into letting her out.  We just have to teach her to hold it longer.  Our latest strategy is to take her food and water up around 4.  She is in like flint around her.  So loved.  Tyler and her are inseparable and play tug of war all day.  She makes it seem like Tyler is not blind at all.  They went to take off to their garbage dump today, Brett was here and with his big gruff voice he ordered them back.  They came back

MY hip problems are the worse.  I can totally relate. I know I have a lot of damage in my hips as they always hurt but when they flare - OMG.   Hopefully your flare will let up soon.  Mine finally has.  Glad you are over the flu and back on meds.

Keep on posting.  You are a great addition to the board and it gives me an excuse to talk about Abby girl.  She is a charmer, we all swear she bats her eyes HI Roxy,

Glad you are having a more serene spell!  Brett may know this but in case he doesn't, he has to be careful with some other foods with Antabuse because they might make him sick.  I mention it because it is the holidays and you never know what will be put in the foods he eats.  Things that have been cooked with alcohol in them, of course, but also things with vinegar (like pickles, etc.) and some sauces like soy sauce, etc.  Just thought I'd give you a heads up.  Read the labels or ask the cook about the ingredients.  And watch out for those alcohol doused desserts.  I'd hate to have your holiday spoiled because he ate something apparently benign and got sick.  And I wouldn't want you to think he cheated.

Thanks so much Jeanne.  I will keep an eye out.  I just woke up at 11 am and he is gone.  I am sleeping way too much and I don't understand.  I take less pain meds than prescribed but maybe I still have to adjust to them.

Today I am a little nervous.  The doctor gave him librium for four days to get through the withdrawals.  I have been giving it to him.  Well now he is out of them.  You could tell they made him high.  I just pray he can quit without them.  I have to quit worrying.

You know what we had for dinner last night?  Brett could not resist a turkey on sale - so we did the whole fixins.  Kelsey and I made mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans and we had cranberry sauce.  What a feast.  Now we are going to be so sick and tired of turkey

Jeanne, your warning may have saved us.  My sweetheart niece is having a "different" Thanksgiving Eve. dinner.  She is doing all fancy breakfast stuff, crepes, waffles, some fancy egg dish, breakfast for dinner.  I am sure it will be great and since we are having a traditional dinner on Christmas - what a great idea!!!!!!

Hey Roxy,
I don't know about Antabuse but I'm glad someone on here did.  You and Brett need all the help you can get.

My niece is also doing something different.  We go to her house on Christmas Eve and have a buffet of pretty much everything (except traditional Christmas stuff).  Then on Christmas Day, we go to her sister's and have either a roast (beef or pork) and homemade tamales that she's been doing every year.  It's great!  We do the traditional turkey thing on Thanksgiving... that way, nobody gets tired of it too soon.

Have a happy!

Lyn
