mini seizures | Arthritis Information

Sometimes parts of my body just have sudden movements on their own, the legs most often.  My entire torso can even jerk as well.  My doc said they were mini/micro seizures.  Anyone else have these?  A drug called Lyrica helps some but not all of the time and they make driving quite dangerous.

See a neurologist. That's where your Rheumy should have sent you immediately. I have uncontrollable tremors. It has to be investigated because it can be caused by a number of things.

Did you doctor even mention why he thought you were having them?

I will see a neuro and my doc said that some people with fibro can have them.

Thanks Deanna.

Yes, I was told the same thing. But it has turned out to be something like peripherial neuropathy, spinal cord damage or maybe MS. We are not to a diagnosis yet.

My Ortho also said that going off the MTX might help with my nerve problems. As you can see it can be a number of things. But I wouldn't take it lightly.

It seems they are throwing an awful lot things in the FM bucket.

I hope you find a good answer. Even if it is FM, they probably can do more for you. But the medicines they might try do fall more under the neurologist or Pain Management Specialist's hat.
