Reynauds | Arthritis Information

Hello.  If you have Reynauds, have you ever taken Procardia?  I tried for a stint, but it gave me headaches.  I live in Boston and for the last two years I have gotten frostbite on my toes and fingers, from literally just being outside with my kids.  I thought I was good a bundling up, but my reynauds has gotten worse.  Well even though it has been mild weather, damage is done and my feet are starting in again. I have also thought about just going to Whole Foods and getting something but I have no idea of what.  Any thoughts???

Thanks, Suzi

I have severe Raynoud's and ironically live in Florida.  I am on Revatio and do well with it.  I am on the verge of losing my big toe (constantly blue) and the Revatio seems to be holding it at bay.  Have you tried any hyperbaric treatments yet?  Also there is a product called "Toastie Toes".  It's a warmer that you put on your sock and it actually stays warm for 10 hours.  It has done amazing things for me!!!

I'm so sorry.  I am a Newbie.  I have moderate RA.  I have been a "lurker" I suppose.  I am not doing well physically.  I take Humira, Methotextrate, Topamax, Lexapro, Roxycodone, and Dilaudid.  I have torn tendons in my ankle due to RA, they won't operate because I could lose my foot/toe due to the severe Raynaoud's.  I go to the Rheumy tomorrow.  I think I will speak with him about injecting weekly until I feel better.  Thank you everyone for allowing me to lurk as you have been a plethura of information for me!!!

I have had Reynaud's for 25 years, and the best thing I have found for my feet, which were always cold & numb in the winter' is wool or wool-blend socks, the thicker the better, and boiled wool clogs, which I get from a local specialty shoe store or there is a catalog & website, called Footsmart. They have two different brands, both made in Germany. They have indoor/outdoor soles, and my feet haven't been cold outdoors since I started wearing them 2 years ago. I wear them year round, in summer minus the socks. I also had foot surgery about 5 years ago (bunionectomy) and did OK, it just took me about twice as long as the average person to heal. Good luck with everything, and keep posting or lurking. I, too, have learned so much.
