Hi, Ive just recently started on enbrel, and although i have insurance through work the medication is still a couple hundred dollars a month . Ive applied for some grants, just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and if u had any solutions?
Have you tried calling 1-800-4enbrel? I called and got information on a program called enliven. For first time users of enbrel it will help with co-pays. It pays so much a month up to a certain amount and is good for up to two years. The only requirement is that you agree to let them use you in their research by answering a few basic questions. good luck. jamieJust wanted to add that the enliven program is great....they send you sharp containers. alcohol swabs and lots more!!!!I use a supplemental insurance called the "Healthwell Foundation". It has
paid for all the biologics...

BeckyI just got a grant from healthwell foundation.  it is based on your yearly income, so call them to see if you are within their guidelines.
Good luck

I'll have to check that out too.

Check out this website too.  It is help to pay for arthritis meds.

Tons of info here: www.needymeds.com

"NeedyMeds is an information source similar to the Yellow Pages. We do not supply medications or financial assistance but help you find programs that do this. On this website, words in blue are links that will open a new page on the site. Each of the links below will take you to a page with more information about a particular type of program."

One more thing...Healthwell is extremely quick in looking at your application, reaching a decision and informing you of such.  Mine took a little longer because they couldn't read one of my copies, but I think it was a little over two weeks when I had the paperwork in my hands.  Thats not bad, in my opinion.

Good luck

Hi Jojo,
I'm new to this board and I noticed your conern on costly Enbrel.  If your insurance has mail-in perscriptions, USE IT!!!  I never even knew this exsisted until my Walmart pharmasist told me about it.  I pay .00 for a 90-day supply of Enbrel.  It saves me a ton of money.  Hopefully you have that on your plan.  Good luck and feel better.

I had assistance from the helthwell foundation 2 years ago when i was on enbrel.  They were very difficult to deal with, often losing claims and working on a 10-12 week backlog.  so you needed 3 months worth of copays and a lot of patience.
