Well, for years I have been trying to find the perfect pair of jeans.  If they fit around the waist, then the rest is too big, especially around the tummy.  And the legs are made for an elephant!  Is there any solution to this?  Have I been looking in the wrong places?  I just want to look kinda normal.  Is that asking too much for goodness sake?  I need your solutions to this if there is one.  May as well start the New Year looking as good as we can, right? oh girl, if you can find a pair that fits pleeeeassseee let me know. I don't think they make them! Seems like if you are not built like a bean pole you are out of luck! My problem is that once I get them over my hips, they swallow my waist!!! I tried on a pair of Lee Riders and they fit fairly well but they were also too pricey for me. Good luck. jamieI haven't tried them myself, but I have been hearing about some new jeans on the market called NYDJ, which stands for Not Your Daughter's Jeans.  They are pretty pricey as far as jeans go, but I have heard you can sometimes get a good bargain on ebay. They are sold around here at Nordstoms.   I guess they have a tummy control panel built into them.   Thank you ladies.  If I find anything at all, I will let you know.  I might consider myself an old lady, but I do not want to look like one.  LOL

You are very lucky that your RA is so small that you can think about style.

It's been a long time since it was on my list of things to worry about, but I can honestly say i miss getting all dressed up, doing the hair and going out for fun.

Hi Bubba, my RA like everyone else's has it's ups and downs.  I do try to add a bit of humor to my life and I must admit it is easier on some days than on others.  This happens to be one of the easier days.  I kinda think that when I look good, I feel better even about pain.  I know, I know, easier said than done sometimes.  But, I do try.

I have had ups and downs with my RA.  Even when it is at it's worst, I still like to look my best.  I don't care how badly I feel, I will always do my hair and make up....and try to wear clothes that look nice on me....that's just the way I am.  Sometimes doing those little things make me feel just a bit better.

Just because someone wants to look their best, does not mean that they are not hurting.

OK...Oprah talked about these last year. They are the Levi's Signature
brand the Target and Walmart carry. They are 15 bucks each and fit
everyone. I have gotten my friends to try them as well and they are all
converts.

Trust me.....

BeckyAll Right Becky!  I can't wait to try on a pair.  Thanks for the info Becky. Thanks Becky! I will try them too. Hey Bubba, for me it is just a matter of trying to cover the predisone fat!!! jamieI love my "Not your daughter's jeans"  NYDJ is the label...  they sell at Nordstrom for .00... but well worth the money!!  I have 3 pairs and you can't get me out of them.  They are so comfortable, almost like wearing sweat pants!  Hillhoney... you are right.. you should try them!
And... they are not 'your mothers jeans'~

I tend to think holding on to our vanity is a good sign even when we feel rotten.

Some magazine article said it took on average trying on 12 pairs of jeans to find one that fits. Argh.

My favorites come from JJill catalog or website. They actually make me look good in jeans instead of aging figure in jeans. But these jean fits are such a personal thing.

I wonder, with the fit you describe (too big in tummy if the waist fits--sounds like a more straight torso than curvey middle) if you could try a size-appropriate version of men's, young men's or some juniors that are cut for a straighter figure?

I've seen those not your mother's jeans and have thought of trying them. They sound pretty good from what you all say.

I should have mentioned that I have been wearing elastic waist jeans because of the bloating from mtx and prednisone at times.  It will probably be difficult to find a good fit unless I buy the stretch jeans.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.  I have a very hard time trying on clothes in a store.  It wipes me out!  Yawn~~~~

Me too now & then. Absolutely exhausting and these days it is depressing too.

I can't work the button on jeans without getting my thumb joint injured at least 1 time during the day. I have switched to jean leggings 2 sizes to big  (I take in the waist a bit and hem them). They look pretty much like normal jeans as long as the shirt is not tucked in. Way easier than fighting with that mean button and that extra tough zipper.
