For all the many things that I could wish for this year, there is one in my heart right now. I wish I could meet so many of you in person. I've met your hearts, the most important part.
But much I would like to see us all in some nice, comfortable room with wonderful treats. We could sit and talk for hours. Give each other real hugs. Show off our family members. Cry. Laugh. Joke.
We'd say how awful this disease is and wouldn't mind when someone got too tired to stay or hurt too much. Because we all understand.
It's just a wish. But it's my wish.
Deanna, that is an awesome idea and not at all impossible. They do this on the other boards and I guess they have a great time and do a lot of bonding. Maybe one of these days it will happen.That's a wonderful, compassionate wish!
If I had to choose just one wish for the new year, it would be that my son would find peace and joy to offset the often painful chaos of his life. I'm thankful that he's here with us for a couple of weeks before heading back to school. Although he has been doing remarkably well after struggling with a debilitating illness for the last six years, and I'm very thankful for his successes, it's still hard to see the pain in his eyes at times. He played the saxophone at our church yesterday and it was achingly beautiful...the depth of his expression in his music would not be possible without some pain and suffering.
As for myself, I just long to be strong enough to take care of my family. It's so frustrating some times when I feel weak and tired...even though, to be honest, I'm doing very well compared to many of you.
