Has anyone ever had a RUQ Ultra Sound Scan? I am having one tomorrow. My concern is my RA has affected some of my organs. I know my Gall Bladder is in trouble, however I think I need a prayer for the others. I am always in pain in my torso. I need some info please.I have never heard of this, but I am wishing you the best and adding a prayer that it is successful.

thank you

I have never heard of this.  What does it stand for?  Have you also had reflux?  My gall bladder was questioned, came out fine, but it was the start of some very bad stomach problems... then came the RA.
Good luck to you and sending lots of prayers your way.
I have been having stomach troubles forever. I am on nexium and it help alot, but not always. I have been having pain under my right ribs for a long time now, always mentioned it to my RA doc, but never was interesting enough for her to do anything. This time she took blood and found I had very high alkaline levels. A RUQ ultra sound was scheduled. Web searching informed me that alkaline is liver, so now im really concerned. Thank you for the prayers, its the only thing we have that is reliable.

RUQ stands for Right Upper Quadrant.  Basically it is a normal regular ultrasound concentrating on the organs in the right upper quadrant of the torso/abdomen area.

Good luck with your ultrasound and I hope that they find what is bothering you.  My husband had his gall bladder out a year ago.  It is an easy same day surgery.  And you will feel much better after your recovery period.  You will have to watch your diet afterwards.  And probably now if you feel your gallbladder is giving you issues.  Avoid fatty foods.  Nuts are especially hard to digest.

I had one in the ER last spring. I had stomach pain and a fever--turned
out to be my gallbladder. Within a week it was out--haven't missed it
since!
