Hello Everyone!

I am new here. I am 35 yrs old and have osteo moderate in my left hip and mild in my right.  Also I have sciatica problems in my left leg and have 4 bulged discs.  I am on Vicodin for the pain, flexril for the spasms, naproxen for the inflamation and xanax for anxiety.  I havent worked for almost 5 yrs.  I applied for SSD and the judge awarded me a yr and now I reapplied and have my hearing coming up in Feb.  Did anyone go through this before or is going through this? Its so stressful.  I am married and have 3 beautiful girls.  I dont know if osteoarthritis is a disability for Social Security.  If someone has some advice I would surely appreciate it very much

[/QUOTE]  hi  annalisa you have the same name as my daughter very pretty name i have just joined this forum i have had 2 hip replacements and are waiting for a knee replacement i am 64 it must be so hard for someone your age to have this with children as well  we do things differently here even with my worse pain they dont like giving you to much pain killing drugs i am on acoxia at present which i believe they have banned in america  it still not that good  i think  the only sure cure is replacements did the doctors say how bad you are regards raine

Hello Raine...Nice to meet you! Thanks for replying. No the dr never told me how bad it was.  All I know is that it is moderate on the left and mild on the right.  But lately my right has been bothering me too.  My knees, my right shoulder is also. So I dont know what to do.  I am going on Tuesday for an EMG of my right hand to see if I have carparl tunnel.  I hate that test, lol!  Well hope to talk to u soon!

So I am doing the best I can.  The only meds I take are Ibuprofen, Osteo-Biflex, and supplements including fish oil and calcium/magnesium.  I'm still working part time and being a wife and mom, but boy is it hard sometimes!  Giving my house a good cleaning lays me up for 3-4 days!

Now the knees, toes, and ankles are starting up.  So I guess those are gonna go too!  I wish bionic parts were a reality.  I would go with a new body from the waste down!

I also have one leg shorter than the other!  My doctor was going to get me a lift for my shoe, but the physical therapist suggested that since my body has already compensated for the difference, adjusting it now might just cause more problems.  Have you been told the same?

Hello...thanks for the replies!!  Nice to meet both of you.  No I didnt get my disability this time.  The first time I did but this time I didnt.  I am thinking about appealing the judges decision.  I went and found a new family dr.  Her first impression meant alot to me.  I am waiting for all my bloodwork to come back.  She is testing me for everything.

My knees, fingers, shoulder, and my legs are really starting to bother me lately.  My new dr thinks things are progressing.  I have been dealing with alot of pain for about 5 yrs now.  They did tell me too that I will eventually need a hip replacement.  But I am only 36 so hopefully its a ways off.  I do limp because of the pain in my left side so I understand where you are coming from with one leg being shorter than the other.  But I have adjusted to it.

If anyone ever needs to talk, I use yahoo messenger and my user name is Lisa18255.

hi

im 34 and have just been diagnosed with OA, its very painful in my neck and a little pain in my hip.  My neck pain was made severe as a result of a car crash which accelerated the disease.  How do i cope with this, i havent had a day of no pain for 3 years now!
