Hello! Glad you found us! There are so many that are walking in similar shoes here, hopefully you'll find that a comfort. Feel free to message just about any of us with any questions. I don't think I've ever come across someone on here who wasn't totally nice about helping others. It's great! :)

Joonie's right, A LOT of us have that whole "hurt worse around your period" thing going on, and yet no one has an answer as to why. Must be something to it though, right???

Hi Heather. Welcome!

All those joints are painfully (sorry) familiar to those of us with RA. You mention the consultant. Is that a rhuematologist? That's where you'll get your definite diagnosis.

The experts say the reason that RA pain is connected to the monthy cycle is probably the same reason 2 or 3 times more women get RA than men. There is something about the female hormone balance that seems to be a common trigger for RA, though there are other triggers, since obviously some of our RA friends are men.

Having RA as your personal PMS must be pretty awful. I was past the point of PMS when my RA showed up. In fact I'm pretty sure that sudden menopause was my personal trigger for RA.

I hope you get find that the next medicine makes a difference for you.

Welcome Heather!

You'll find lots of good information and good people here, too.

Welcome to the most caring bunch of people in the world

Chris
