Ok so i have the courage to take my mtx. But now have an infection in my root canal tooth, they are sending me to a specialist. Put me on penn vk. this is the third ABX. I have been on in two months. Just as soon as one infection clears ,feeling better on ABX. about 5 days later i am sick again! What is up? i may have asked this question before but has anyone experienced alot of infections at the beggining of there disease? When i was younger i would get high fevers all the time. Anyway, i hope these infections stop soon! I know how anoying that is, i just got better from being sick with things either comming back or getting somthing new. Good luck!!
anewbeginning, yes, the infections can be pretty common. I haven't had any significant ones since I realized I was dealing with RA, but I am still slow healing with small wounds and have a minor infection that keeps recurring. Before I knew the RA was kicking around I had a couple of years of severe, odd infections.
It's frustrating, and discouragin isn't it? You will get past them. Keep plugging at them, getting them treated, trying to stay as as sane and infection free as you can, and you'll get a break and you can take that mtx you're so anxious to try!
