light bulb... | Arthritis Information

What a dufus I am. Deanna, I've gone back and re-read some of your posts on neuropathy and I think I'm understanding what's going on with my hand pain. I swear, my brain is functioning at about 10% nowadays.

Yesterday the rheumy told me my RA seemed to be under control but I still have the same amount of pain ,so as I do so often, I questioned if I really do have RA after all since the meds haven't worked yet. Obviously, I do have RA and just now, the light bulb went on.

Oops...didn't mean to send that yet. So, I'm feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. Maybe Lyrica will work and I'll get some pain relief soon!!!

It does sound hopeful!

You sound identical to me!!  Read my recent post titled just saw the rheumy.  My rheumy said my ra is under control as well but my hands are feet are still killing me.  She told me neuropathy as well.

I just started the lycria myself this past Friday night and it does seem to help.  My hands and feet are ok in the am but as the day progresses they get worse until the evening when they are almost intolerable.  I am on a low dose of the lycria and I think my rheumy will increase dose.

Michele,

You do sound alot like me! My hands shake and my muscles are weak and it does seem to progress as the day goes on. My rheumy is so reluctant to give me pain killers though. Nsaids don't work for me,neither did prednisone or a medrol pack. Percocet works (I had it after surgery)but it puts me out. I hope Lyrica works for both of us. A few days ago I was about ready to give up. Now I'm going to pursue this neuropathy thing until I can get it all figured out. Good Luck
