Hi All,

I can't remember when I last came on here, but thought it was time to have a chat.

My R.A. is the best it's been for years now.  I've been on a triple cocktail of MTX, Arava and Plaquenil, since April 2006, and it seems to be doing the job.  Much less swelling, more flexibility and less 'down' time.  So there is hope out there for all you who haven't yet found the right combo.  The Arava did make my BP go right up, but with medication, it's now in control; and if taking another couple of pills is what it takes to feel better, then I'm there!

On a sad note, my old cat and costant companion, Toby, died from pancreatitis and hepatitis on October 25th.  Although others have been and gone before him, he left both myself and my husband with big holes in our hearts.  The house was too empty without another soul in it, especially as my husband works shifts, so we got ourselves a ginger tom kitten on December 5th, who was 9 weeks old.  He is called 'Chewie' and he has lightened out lives again.  They are all different, nothing could replace Toby, but this little scrap has gone a long way towards filling the hole that was left.  He is the most manic kitten we've ever had.  A typical curtain climber.  He has nearly doubled in size since we  got him...he was 8lbs at 9 weeks and 12lbs at 12 weeks.  He's now nearly 15 weeks and still sooo cute.

I've been travelling around a bit over the last few months.  In late November I went to visit my sister and children and then with her to see 'Snow Patrol' at Birminghams National Indoor Arena (UK).  I carried on to Norfolk to visit my parents and aunt and stayed with them for a week or so.  I then came home in December with the aim to get a new cat... shich obviously we did.

My sister, husband, niece and nephew came to stay for Christmas and we had a great time.  Christmas is definately for kids and as we don't have our own, it was great to have them here with us.  Unfortunately James, my nephew, left his germs behind, and I've been laid up with a really nasty virus since then...but it's on it's way out now.  I'm sure that you all know how badly our immune systems cope with these things!

I have to take a call now:  Hoping you all have a Happy and relatively healthy New Year.

Love and happiness to all

Dawn

Good to see you pop up on the radar screen again. And, you have such wonderful things happening (except for the cat died). But being healthier is certainly a blessing.Dawn,  Great to hear you are doing well.  You still need to stay in touch.  I am sorry about your cat.  I lost my sweet dog a little over a week ago and I am still grieving.  I cannot hardly talk about him but I know about that "hole".  Have lots of fun with your new kitty and stay happy and healthy
