plaquenil side effects??? | Arthritis Information

I have been on plaquenil for 6 weeks now. I take 200 mg. in the am and pm. I am always very careful to take with a full meal so I don't have stomach problems. I seem to be getting more and more nervous/anxious and my heart is racing. Has anyone else had problems like this on plaquenil?

I stopped taking it this morning. I am going to wait a few days and see if my heart rate slows back down. I can't stand this feeling. I really want this med to work though as everything seems to have more and more side effects.

Any help would be appreciated!

Boy, I sure have not felt that. Is there something else going on? Do you
take a beta blocker of any kind? Have you recently gone off another med
cold turkey? Are you nervous because you fear a side effect? I have found
this to be a friendly drug. I hope you get this checked out soon.

I was looking at side effects online and found several sites that stated nervousness as a side effect. I am so sad if I can't stay on it. I was finally getting some relief from the pain this last week.

I'm not on a beta blocker. And didn't stop any meds. The only thing I am doing different is taking the plaquenil.
