I am now owned by a rescue great dane!  He is the most wonderful animal I have ever been around.  He is huge, when I figure out how to post a picture, I will!  He is 4 1/2 years old, I just got him yesterday and he has made me smile so much in the past day.  It is so nice to be loved unconditionally by an animal.  They love you so much.

Anyhoo, Scooby is my new stress reliever!

Roxy, I hope you don't find my post insensitive.  I know you just lost your beloved Chico.

Pets are really amazing! I have 2 bearded collies, and they are wonderful, they really can make you feel better no matter what! They are miracle workers!

Roxy, I am so sorry about Chico, I know how hard it is to have to go through that

I've never heard of a bearded collie.  What an interesting sounding dog.  I'm going to have to look it up on the internet.  They are miracle workers.  I lost my Ruger (sharpei) in Dec 05 and I swore I'd never get another pet.  But, I miss having one in the house and am so glad I got Scooby.  I did change breeds though, I'll never have another Sharpei for sure.

My grandfather raised great danes, I love them. I wish I could foster one but I'd have to get a bigger car! (and condo, LOL)

I'm glad Scooby picked you! Congrats.Great Danes are beautiful dogs...glad you have a new friend.  Looking forward to seeing Scooby's pic! Can't wait to see Scooby!  I have a black female toy poodle and she is the best pain reliever when nothing else works.

I want some serious dog therapy too. I'm waiting until after the knee surgery with the hopes that I can at least walk the dog. I know my daughter will be more than happy to do it for me. But I don't want to train one when I'm so unstable.

Oh, but to have those big, sad loving eyes and having something warm to cuddle--yes, good medicine.

To Post an image on a forum.....

First of all you should have an account at someplece like photobucket or any photo storage site that gives you direct urls and codes to copy (starts with "http//"-ect) for URL's.

upload your photo to their site, make sure it has been made small enough to view in a forum like this. The longest side should be around 300 pixels or so. You can do this in almost any photo/Art program, save it under a different file name such as "Title_Small".

After you upload your photo and have your URL code for it copied with the right click menu of your mouse, or notepad, you have to find the Add an Image button here on the forum post box.

On this forum it is the third button from the right at the top (blueish w/greenish) Above the window you write in.  hover over it with your mouse and it should reveal the words "Add Image" Poke that. A box will appear where you can paste your photo's url, paste it into the appropriate line at the top.

The feature on this forum also gives you an opportunity to rename your photo. (Alternative text) Do that if you would like to also. (:O)

Then poke ok/add/ or accept  and the image should appear right in the post box you are writing in . (Ok I did my best to explain that one.)

At least I could Try to help with something...I hope.

The photo is of my protector, A Rat terrier named Whizzo.

 I love him very much

  He's an Anti-depressant.

I hope this helped.

we had a Great Dane that adopted us when my daughter was a toddler. His name was Arthur and a real affectionate hound. One day just after we got him I was hanging out the washing and I heard a thunderous sound (like a horse galloping). My daughter came running round the side of the house with the dog bounding behind her , he ran past her, headed toward me and the washing, everything went flying and he carried on running with my newly washed sheets wrapped around him, through the trees and then rolled into the dirt. My daughter laughed so much that I had to see the funny side of it and the dog just got up shook the sheets off and came and sat beside us on the grass with a look on his face that said" that was a good game". He was very good with our children too.

I have a black lab mix that is my baby.  He knows when I am doing so well and is attached to me like he has velcro instead of fur. He even escorts me to the bathroom lol.  Sits there til I'm done, and escorts me back out to the living room.  He takes up all my room on my side of the bed but I don't care lol.  We manage to squish together.  Pets are awesome.

Congrats on being adopted!  may you guys have a lot of years of a lot of fun together!

Jen,

Thanks for the tips.  I'm not very computer literate.  But, I'm gonna give it a try.  I made the mistake of letting Scooby sleep with me.  Now he doesn't want to sleep anywhere else

I wouldn't have it any other way.  I already love him so much.

Lori
