Some of you already know my situation w/my doctor. She can be a bit difficult. Well, I have an appointment w/her on Fri and I want to ask her why I cant walk up stairs, and will I ever walk up stairs again without being in so much pain. Does any of you have a problem walking up stairs? I wont go anywhere anymore if it means walking up any stairs or hills. I just cant do it anymore. Am I on my way to NOT walking?  Im going to ask her to give me a cortisone shot in my knee. Im hoping this will help

If you are at the point of not walking upstairs then she needs to send you to an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. Certainly a xray and MRI are in order here. If you go back in there and she give you the same grief, then you state that you are going to report her to the American Medical Association and possibly to the State Health Department.

I know she's been, well, mean to you. But she doesn't have the right to overlook your condition. That's just medical malpractice.

I cannot do stairs. It is forbidden. Most of us with knee damage can't. You may need Synvisc or cortisone shots, PT, knee braces or a cane. Or, you may need surgery. What you don't need is to be ignored.

Good luck. I know it is hard to stand up to some of these doctors because they can be so short with us. But this is your body, your life.

2-3 stairs with a banister going sideways is my limit now.  I agree about getting to an ortho doc though I am not interested in surgery myself at the moment.  I also cannot walk malls, etc. at this time.  I have high hopes for adding the Enbrel soon.
