If I am living alone and are depending soley on my income and I have insurance through my job but cant afford it. Will I be able to get some or all of my meds paid for? Is  there a program out there like that for me?  Im on my own now and im a little worried about getting my meds. I used to be on my husbands Ins.

Do a search on Patient Assistance programs in the search on this site. That should bring up a bunch. Also, look for them on About.com. Do a web search on them and under the drug manufacturer.

I'll try and post some info later. Also, check to see if your state has a program to help pay for "medical needy." For instance, you can apply for the state health program in AZ and if you have insurance already they will take it out of that program first.

Or, they might let you enroll in your state's program. Also, call your State Health Insurance Commissioner for information.

You also may be able to just insure yourself through your work, but be able to insure your children on the state program. Your local school will likely be able to direct you to that program as well as the state agency.

Most states require the other spouse to continue you on their insurance unless you sign a waiver. Have you checked into this? Certainly, he should be helping to cover your children.

Oh 2 of my 3 kids are grown so I just have my 12 year old left.

Her Dad will cover her its just me im concerned about. Thank you for your help

I use the healthwell foundation. If you do a search it will bring you to the
site. They cover my Remicade.

Thank you all for the information it helps alot.

Starting over is not an easy thing to do.
