I don’t get it... | Arthritis Information

I don't know what happened but I posted the other day on Lyrica and how all my pain was gone. But yesterday the pain started getting worse and now today it's just like before.

I just don't understand how I could feel so good for just ONE DAY. I don't think it all could have been in my head because I'm a sceptic when it comes to medications. Nothing has worked for the pain in the past so I wasn't expecting this one to. The pain and stiffness all along my thumb and wrists is just as bad as before....

I'm not saying this is the case with your pain.....just thought it was a good time to mention for those here new to RA that it's a constant struggle with Up's and Down's. It's the one thing about this disease that I'm not sure I'm ever going to get use to.

miles2go, I think I know what might be going on. Since your nerve problems is probably brought on by RA, it can flare just like RA does. For instance, when my nerve pain has been especially bad I have found that 1 mg of prednisone is worth more than any painkiller. I can tell it is inflamed.

That's what I believe might be happening and that Lyrica is still going to work for you. You might want to talk to your doctor about all this next time in and see what he/she thinks is going on.

Thanks Lovie and Deanna,

You're right about the up's and down's although with me it's mostly "down's"

That's a good point about having "flares" with neuropathy just as with RA. When I see my RD on Feb. 7th I'll talk to him about it. In the meantime, I'll keep on taking it and keep on hoping it's gonna work.

I feel better now.

unfortunatly this rotten disease has its good and bad days.  Yes, all the meds. do not do it all.  Tired is my middle name.  Although now with Enbrel, Relafin, ultracet and many vitiams I feel the best in 3 years since diagnoisis, I am still tired.!

There are few days in a month that I am not tired.  Fatigue is a big part of this wonderful cellular disease!  I swear it is a form of cancer, I really think it effects the cells in a simular manner.

Take care and get plenty of rest!  You will find sleeping will be a big part of your life.  But I always feel fatigue is the lesser of the evil of PAIN!

Good Luck, Diane
