Trying to Get Pregnant | Arthritis Information

Is anyone trying to get pregnant?  I've been trying for 2 years and have had one miscarriage.  I'm on 100 mg of Celebrex.  My rheumy and ob are not very helpful.  I don't know if the RA, Celebrex, or something else is the culprit.  Does anyone have any insight or experiences?  Have you and your significant other/husband been tested for infertility?

I ran the gamete of fertility tests and drugs.  I have been trying for three years with 5 miscarriages.  I am not trying at the moment because of the drugs I am on for the RA.

If you have any specific questions or would like to talk you can always pm me!

lorster, my husband and I have not been tested for infertility.  My doctor has very little interest in testing us because he says that since we conceived once (even though it ended in miscarriage), we are not infertile.  My ob and rheumy say it will just take longer because I have an illness.

Since you have immune issues, you really should insist on the clotting tests, especially since you have already had one miscarriage.

Birdie I think you should be working with a good OB/GYN on this.  They understand how we feel as we are waiting and wondering if it worked this month.  If the one you have isn't being helpful, then he isn't the doctor you are going to want during pregnancy and delivery.  You definitely want someone who is responsive and helpful when you're pregnant.

A good OB/GYN can help you learn your ovulation cycle, and some of the tricks and tips that will help you get pregnant again.  They can do post-coital test of your partner's sperm in your cervical mucous right in their office that can quickly and simply answer some fears about fertility.

The fact that you got pregnant once is a very good sign.  And don't let the miscarriage scare you.  It happens more often than people know.

Good luck to you.  And have tons of fun working on your little project!
