hi i need some advice. i had c3-c4 surgery with titanium plates and cage in sept.2006, i am still off work and in a lot of pain inmy neck and shoulders. recently my right arm is in sever pain just above and just below the elbow. my neuro is baffled about this and so my ortho but my pcp says it is tennis elbow. i also have osteoporisis. i need to go back to work but i dont want to hurt myself further. i would appreciate your help.

    thanks, lolo

Lolo, no clues about this. Just wanted to say I hope you find a solution.

Hope things settle down for you soon Sweetie...Sounds like you've had a long, hard recovery.

No good advice.....just loads of good wishes.

Hang in there.

thanks for the reply and your support. maybe i will get more answers when i go to the dr on monday. i am so glad i found this message board sometimes i need someone to talk to. hopefully i can ge encouraging to others.

what was the condition that caused you to need this surgery? what other treatments did you try in the past?

I have a herniated disk at c-5 c-6 and just had my first injection today...I am in so much pain...I hope to get some relief.

The ortho surgeon that I saw told me he would not want to operate on my because I am young and with RA he is afraid it would set in motion a domino effect...I have osteopenia...how old are you if you dont mind my asking? I am 32.

OH..yeah..and welcome..

Welcome. What kind of work do you do?

hi marian, thanks. i am a lab technician in a manufactoring plant. but because of cutback, they have added 2 extra jobs. one of them is some heavy lifting and moving. maybe my pcp will talk to me on monday about these medsI also had no trauma to my neck...it happened or started about 5 years ago when I was 27..and to be honost I have never gotten an explanation as to why or how. This was my first injection so I dont know if it is going to work yet but I should know in 2 weeks at my follow up what the next step will be.

since i am so much older than you, i wonder if this disease is hereditary. i think i will check to see if anyone in my family had this problem. i know 2 of my sisters have back problems but they are  alot older than me.  maybe this one of those things that drs are not sure of and don't want tell it.
