My sister and I have recently taken over our mothers' finances and I have been able to eliminate thus far .85 each month off her bills! ( That is just in phone expenses).Yippee iiioo keye ay! I am so proud of us. Furthermore, next month when I change a few other thingsand will be able to eliminate another .00. My sisters tolls are not in as of yet but she has been working hard on a few other things and has eliminated probably at least another 0. We are makin' this happen to cut bills nearly in half and since our mother is on a fixed income this is money in her bank account for all those emergencies that always slash the budget! Her car needs some repairs plus she has a surgery coming up and this will help during that time.
It is a lot of work but there are so many hidden extra costs to our everyday lives and my sis and I are eliminating what she does not need or use. It takes a lot of time and many phone calls but we are getting it done. Geesh, maybe now her meds won't be so darned hard to budget in!
I realize many of us on here have to stretch the dollar so much and many times still come up short and it is so nice to learn that cutting back to find extra money can be done. It is not always easy and it is very time consuming but it can be a reality!
