Does anyone know about MSM? | Arthritis Information

I read that James Coburn took this and swore by it.....does anyone else take it or know anything about it?

MSM is an anti-inflammatory, and works much like NSAIDS in reducing inflammation.  Some formulas of glucosamine and chrondroitin also have MSM.  It is certainly worth a try to see if it works for your husband.  I have tried it and didn't notice any remarkable results.

Hillhoney, that's what I thought and thanks for answering.  I just bought him some "Triple Flex" and it has Glucosamine, Chondroiton and MSM in it. I know it's crazy, but I am looking for anything that might help him.  He has only been diagnosed for 4 months now and desperation is setting in.

I take Nature Made's TripleFlex.  I've been on it for years and when I stop taking it, I can really feel the difference.  I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the MSM component, but as long as it works, I'm going to keep taking it.

Unfortunately it can be pretty expensive, but I use the Nature Made rewards program which gives you points toward coupons on all their products (I also use their SAM-e and acidophillus).  I have no ties to the company...I just thought I'd pass on the tip.  You can register on their website.
