I am new here and just wanted to see if there are very many other fols here who are in their 40's.

I am 47 and am so sore with neck and shoulder pain and stiffness.

it really gets me down,I look at my three kids and wonder how I'll be when they have kids.. Will I even be able to function???

any other like me??

Sadie

Yes...others like you are here. I began having horrible arthritis in my early 30's and wasn't taken seriously for years. Even doctors scoffed and told me to just rely on over the counter products.

Depression overtook me many days and I was rarely proud of how I was spending my time. Instead of pushing on, I gave up. DON'T ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN WITH YOU! Please see a rheumatologist for the help you need. I lost so much time that possibly have been happy and productive. Seems I had just reached a point from all the pain and depression that I didn't want to seek out another doctor...one, who in all likelihood, could have helped me.

I'm 41 and have just recently been diagnoised with PMR. I many of the same thoughts that you have concerning my children and their future children. Even now I have 4 children ranging in age between 15 and 5. One of the things I have noticed is that when I am hurting I am short and tend to be crabby. Something I don't want to be towards my kids. Now that I've recognized it I'm hoping to be able to control it better.

Hi I'm 48 tomorrow(!!??!!) and was diagnosed in October, though I have had symptoms for several years. Going through a major relapse at the moment as trying to survive on 7.5mg. I am crabby and short tempered when I'm in pain and can't cope. I've actually now got my first appointment with a rheumy on 6th March so I hope we can get some stability with the drugs.

Hope today is good for you.

Love Judi xx
