Hey there, Good morning Welcome... I was in a clinical trial for that medication and mtx. I had to quit the program after five months because my liver enzymes went sky high...I think that was from the mtx though.....Good luck with this medication ..let me know how it works....I have done the enbrel and am just starting humeria God Bless Welcome Becky. Glad you're here. Up until two weeks ago I had been on Humira for the last two years. My doctor has now taken me off of it because I've experienced some tingling/numbess in my legs, arms and hands. He believes the humia could likely be the cause. He's given me information on Orencia and Rituxan to consider. I've talked to several people that are having good results with Rituxan but I haven't talked to anyone about Orencia yet. Are you having good results so far? Right now I'm leaning toward Rituxan because it's only a twice a year infusion verses every 4 weeks. Love to hear more from you. Again; Welcome. Hi Becky, welcome.
How's Orencia working out for you so far? I'm starting Remicade tomorrow (Enbrel and Humira already failed) but if it doesn't work Orencia is the next step for me. Do you take benedryl or steroids with the Orencia infusion? (I've heard with Rituxan it's IV steroids

But is only 2 times a year so that is tolerable...and you know you will get 20 good days per year! I sure wish steriods weren't toxic for long term regular use. They are cheap and so far produce the best result for me.
Lovie and Lynk, I'll do that. I go back to my RD Feb. 19th to see how I've faired off Humira. Some days I think "Hey, maybe I can do this" and then other's I'm thinking there's no way I can manage on MTX alone. I'm only into my second solid week without Humira though; so we'll see what week 5 and 6 bring. I know when I was off of both last year for about 4 weeks I was hating life; but MAYBE, just MAYBE I can manage on MTX alone. We'll see. I never like to get too far ahead of myself. As I'm sure you've learned by now everyday with RA brings something new. You never know from one day to the next what things will be like. Trust me; you guys will definately be amoung the first to know. Glad you're here Becky.
Just
joined tonite and wanted to introduce myself I am 43 and have had RA
for 14 years now. Started on Orencia in July and would love to hear
from others that are also on it. Looking forward to meeting new people
and learning a lot here!!
Hi LivveyLou, I'm not on orencia but welcome!
So far I have had wonderful results with the Orencia and have had no side effects at all that I have noticed. Something that I have noticed now that the cold weather has set in tho--I don't have nearly as many problems with upper respiratory stuff as I did when I was on Enbrel and later Remicade.
Let me know what you decide and how it goes for you
Becky
