Trans Fat | Arthritis Information

I was picking up my RX yesterday and ran across a pamphlet on internal
inflammation. They listed all the reasons for increased CRP levels and one
of the leading reason was over consumption of trans fats. I have never
watched this. They stated what is recommended is no more than 2.8 grams
per day. Do any of you watch your trans fat consumption and have you
noticed a reduction of symptoms or decrease in your CRP levels? I guess I'm
starting to really look at my diet. All the resons listed for high CRP, I am
guilty of. There is nothing i can do about the past, only try to improve my
health for the future.

Hahaha the only thing I watch when I eat is the grease build up on my fingers....

LOL I know, I should be better...

I've never heard about that lorster...let me know if you hear anything else

I cannot find the article but I'll run and get another one and copy what it
said. It made me think about some of the ways I have eaten in the past.
You know you are what you eat, lol. I'll also list the other things that they
mentioned as factors.

There probably is something to that. It's one reason that olive oil and Omega 3 oils are so good for you. For instance, eating salmon and tuna regularly has been proven to lower your inflammation levels. That's why Fish Oil is often recommended as is Flax Seed Oil.

I found this site last night that talks a great deal about a diet to help MS. It might have some interesting info on it. It's called the Best Bet Diet. It's based on MS being a disease that attacks one's own immune system (in this case the nerves instead of joints). It seems to talk about some of the things others have brought up lately on the board.

Check out their site map with links to a whole bunch of subjects that are appropriate with dealing with RA.

Also, they have a specific link talking about oils and diet.
