We are better human beings. That is just a fact. We don't want to destroy a whole nation because of religion. I don't agree with most religions and gods, but I don't want to kill those people that believe in those religions and gods. I don't think that women should have to wear burkas, but I don't want to kill them if they do or don't. They want to kill you Ms. Roxy. They want to kill your family. You are an infidel. Peace is nice Ms. Roxy and you can wear flowers in your hair and peace emblems on your clothes. We in the United States have had peace for many years. The one reason we have had peace is our beautiful nuclear weapons. The leader of Iran not only said that he wants to destroy Isreal, he also said he wants to utterly destroy the United States. Ms. Roxy, I live among them. They live in our country, but most of them don't like us. This is what Al Saad said to me during a heated conversation, "You don't know how many rockets we have. The streets of the United States will run knee deep in blood." Ms. Roxy, there are camps everywhere, look around, be scared, be very scared or not. Maybe some flowers in the burka. But I know I have drawn this way out but all is very important. We third, fourth, fifth generation americans are some of the kindest, most generous, peaceful and tolerant people in the world. And yeah, we are better human beings than them.

Finishing every "started" project at the house. Regrouting every window in the house because there is tons of hot air making it in. Taking care of that huge debt that always happens when the "guy who likes his toys" is home for a year. Packing up and shipping off "Simple" things to his two best guys ALSO because we know them pretty well too. Videotaping and taking tons of pictures of everything the kids do because he has more guilt trips than the average human and he misses them and us more than we ever think he does. Not telling him half of the stuff that happens day to day in e-mails, and lord knows if he gets some chat thing we better watch it, because if he's worrying about something here, someone (s) could get killed over there. (Big one there)
His wife, puts up with me as the only friend who "understands" and never questions her, She listens to the gossip mill of the wives club for an ounce of truth...We thelma and loise it up to the PX once a month to stock up on cheap food and things for teenagers as taxes could be the end to the whole debt resolution situation...The Kids; Whine...
She Works three jobs keeps an ear on the phone for emergency calls from me about the kids, does everything An extremely frazzled wife does "right" for some reason, she's good at this stuff...
I; .....am the eyes she "claims" to have in the back of her head....
...and these are only the little things that happen to every wife and friend (S) that get left at home. Only Some of the things...
This time He's going to work on roads with lots of IED's*.. I can't imagine everything what goes on there, but It worries everyone More.

So none of us here really have "Opinions" on what politicians say or do. They all pretty much look alike...But every head drops when they see the Dress Uniforms heading to someones house..All of 'em...

We'd better not go to war in Iran - better not. Not because Iran is beautiful. Keep in mind that the Taliban had no problem whatsoever with destroying the Buddahs that had been in place in Afghanistan for more than a thousand years. They really don't care about beauty. Beauty and fundamental religions don't co-exist (which is really ironic, when you think that they're supposedly worshipping God. What's the first thing a fundamentalist does? Cut down all the trees that God made and build a mosque, a temple, a church).
I don't want us to go to war anywhere! I don't want to see one more death over someone else's country. I want our security forces and dollars spent right here at home. I want the world to look at us with respect again. I want the world to grieve the loss of every woman, child and man that dies in war no matter what their religion, color, or politics are. The MAJORITY of people in Iran are young people. They do not believe in their governments policies and in time, those policies will change but now the attitude is - look what happened in Iraq - we need to protect OURSELVES.
Jen, My heart breaks for the soldiers and their families. My best friend's two boys have both done TWO tours of duty in both Afghanistan and Iraq. One - Michael - is still there. I don't want to lose more of our kids, fathers, daughters to another civil war in a region we only care about because of its oil. Especially when we do not HAVE to be dependent on oil, politicians choose to keep us in that position to keep the rich - richer.
I posted that link so we can all see the Iranians as people just like us. The majority of Muslims do not believe in Jahad. We have crazy Christians that go in abortion clinics and kill everyone - does that make all Christians bad?????? I don't want to argue - I just thought we were allowing a dialog about world events. I would never want to hurt anyone on this board - I just think it makes the board more interesting when we can talk about current events. Especially since I have spent very little time off the couch in a month and I am so sick of RA and fibro

And actually alot of Soldiers would like you to see that it isn't all death and destruction over there, they would like you to see the "Good" stuff, like women no longer having to wear burkas, the new markets springing up everywhere. Stuff the media never shows... Heck, I think we are all worried about Iran, China, and the whole "East".... I simply can't take on the whole world in my thoughts....

The entire middle east is full of beautiful places. From Qatar to Turkey, each one has breathtaking cities and sights. United Arab Emirates is one of the richest countries in the world and has a beautiful skyline. It seems like only european and middle eastern families are the only ones to ever travel to these places in liesure. I went because the boss said to :)
