Iron Infusion Worked | Arthritis Information

Ok, I should be feeling great.  The iron infusion I had before Christmas worked and my hemoglobin is up to about  11 instead of down around 9.  I should have energy. I  don't.  Maybe I've been in denial not so much the anemia as the RA causing the fatigue (or at least RA is a larger component that I wanted to give it credit for).

Now I'm feeling a bit crushed.  I was hoping the fatigue would just go away, now I'm thinking it is here to stay.  I don't like that thought.  The hematologist even asked me if my job was too much for me and I had to do a real double take

Maybe its depression.

Oh, Pammy, I don't know what to tell you. Fatigue is huge for me. They are still working up the blood work to tell me what they are going to do. Hopefully it is just iron shots.

But I know that I cannot do even what you are doing. There does come a point that even the little is too much. I guess you just have to go back to your doctors, the Rheumy and the Hematologist, and bang their heads for more information. In cancer patients, the ones Hematologist do a lot of work with, they offer shots to help with the fatigue. Ask about that.

Well maybe it is your thyroid? Let the doc know how you are feeling and what the hemotalogist said. There has to be a reason....for severe fatigue.

We didn't really figure mine out but I got better in about 3 months and have not been quite such a bad 'dragin' lady since. Oh a day here and there but not where I had to argue with myself not to lie down in the aisle at work cause I was too tired to walk out of the building to my car. (It had something to do with horrible lung congestion that just would not go away. I was sick from halloween until easter).
