Anyone know what the latest you can grow out of JRA? i have had it ever since I can remember, and have not gone into a remmision yet. I thought I was going into one, but then this dumb weather came along and messed everything up! Both of my friends who have JRA have gone into a remission at some point, and might grow out of it. My soctor has not said anything to me about growing out of it, so I dont know what to think! I am 14 and getting sick and tired of not being able to do my best at my favorite sports. I missed half the field hockey season because of this thing, and was one game away from getting my letter, i guess I will have to wait until I am in 10th grade! This is so frustrating, I just want it to go away!!!

I'm pretty sure it's an individual thing - try not to base your experience off your friends. You may go into remission next year, or at 18, or not at all. We can HOPE that you will, but you just can't be too sure with this crap. Sorry hun :(

I have just spoken to my cousins daughter, she was diagnosed with JRA at 15, she was suffering with swollen hands and feet but had been through a trauma as well. It seemed to go away but last week she woke up and her hands and feet are swollen again and this time she has severe pain in her knees, she is now 31.So it looks like its reared its ugly head 16 years later.Strange thing is that she has just suffered another trauma so it looks as if the trauma's are a trigger point for her
