Hi Everyone,

A lot has been going on. DH and I decided to start trying to conceive in Oct. The first cycle using a fertility monitor  I was given the chance to have Jaw surgery so we stopped trying that month and I had the jaw surgery. We did however conceive 10 days after the surgery...hahaha.

I'm 10 weeks along now! Yippee!

With that said I stopped my Enbrel as soon as we found out but by last week my RA was so bad, having a very hard time standing, moving my elbows, hips and then my spine started swelling and getting really tender, which was new to me.

We had researched Enbrel as much as possible while TTC and last Friday after a day of agony I made the call to my OBGYN and requested it. (My Rhuemy is on leave) Since the only med they recommend during pregnancy is pred I had to plead my case. I hate pred with a passion and feel Enbrel is the safer bet. I took one shot Friday night and today I am probably 85-90% better.

I met with a perinatologist on Mon who is supporting my decision but we decided to try and make it through the rest of my first trimester without taking another does.

I also joined a non profit study group today so hopefully down the road the answers will be more clear and the decision won't be as hard for women in my shoes. It really wasn't something we decided on lightly.

So that's where I have been, fatigue ridden but happy! haha.
Fabulous news! With a perinatologist on board, you can feel confident that you will make the right decisions for that precious baby and for yourself.  Blessings to all 3 of you!     PatFantastic Danea and best of luck for a troublefree pregnancy from now on and a healthy and content baby.  Congratulations!

Thumbs up for joining the study. Hopefully you'll be a part of something very important here.

Best wishes. Stay in touch.

Congratulations Danea! How wonderful for you. Here's to a healthy babyYippee!  I am so happy for you!  You're going to be a mommy!  Congratulations! CONGRATULATIONS Danea.  I have had an exciting life but never more excited than when I was pregnant with my daughter.  Enjoy this amazing time.

Maybe You'll get to have a pregnancy remission! Many others have so why not you too!

Oh, happy, happy, happy news!!!!! Congrats on being a mommy.

wow congratulations

i am also looking into conceiving by mid this year but advised by doc to get RA in contro first with the medication since i wont be able to take nothing during pregnaancy...

after reading that many of us have had some sort of a provision for this is a arelief ......9 months without any medication would be a challenege indeed

anyways all the best and congrats once again

Congratulations.  I feel safer on Enbrel than Pred.  The stress alone from the pain would not be good for your pregnancy.  What a wonderful time for you.  Don't let RA take it from you.  Do you want a boy or girl

in my case, fiji is where i live.. and we dont even have one single rheumatologist here therefore my family doc is taking care of my situation.

dont really trust all that she gives me coz it gets me thinking if this would actually prevent joint dammage in future or not?

i have read alot about ENbrel.....so you saying its safe for you to use this during pregnancy??????

Oh, Congratulations!!!

Happy news is something I love to hear!!! I hope everything goes extremely well!!!Perfect, in fact!!!
