Going to Start Researching | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone.  Been away..but thinking about all of you.

Well, after a couple of really bad weeks, I have finally decided I need to start looking at disability benefits/requirements, etc. for possibly the near future.  I'm filling in again for the person who used to be the assit. for the cfo/coo (she quit) and it is just totally nuts, because I am still supporting the other two people I work for.  Way too much stress!!

Lots of pain with my neck and the ra still.  I have my neurosurgery appt. next Tuesday and am still being told from my rehumy that I will need surgery right away on the ruptured discs in my neck.  Also, figured out with my therapists help, that I have a diss-associative disorder (which really explains a lot about things I have been experiencing more and more of over the years.)

So just wanted to say 'thanks' to all of you who have been posting links and stuff about applying for disability.  Going to go back and re-read everything!!  It is MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

hi Tara...I am sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. I am interested to hear about your neck and spine. What kind of problems are you having? I have been having some issues with my neck and just had spinal injections done 2 weeks ago at C-6 which aparantly didnt work.

I also wanted to mention that we have a new forum on the rasushi board about employee rights with RA. It is brand new but there are a few good links already in place there. We do also have a forum all about SSD. The link is www.rasushi.jconserv.net

Good luck to ya girl...I know what a big decision it is to apply for disability...it is sort of a humbling experience.

Tara; We've missed you. I'm real sorry things haven't improved for you.

Good Luck with your surgery and your fight for disability.

I'm so sorry Tara that you had to make the decision to begin researching disability.  It is a very hard decision to make giving up our jobs for disability but one that can come having RA.  Our lives are turned upside down with these diseases but I know that things will turn out alright.  Will be praying and am sending ((((Hugs))))!

Tara, sorry it has just been more and more bad news. But I think you are making the right decision. Get the lawyer and don't put yourself through the misery of any of the filing. I waited until my appeal and wished I had done it from the first.

You should really try and see if you can get the disability based on the disassociative disorder. That may actually be easier to get than the RA. It's not fair and not right. So talk to your therapist and see what can be done. It may be the easier road to travel.

Your in my thoughts and prayers, Tara.
