Good hematologist report | Arthritis Information

Blood work came back normal. No more anemia. Hematologist couldn't understand why that stupid Rheumy took me off the MTX in the first place. She said that normally that they would just reduce the dosage NOT take you off it completely.

She seems happy that I am getting a new Rheumy, even asked which one and she'd heard of him.

I guess I'm supposed to be off the MTX because of my surgeries anyway. But it will be 3 months off by the time I see this new Rheumy and I am doing terribly without it.

But good news is great news since I was sent there with the impression that I could die because the anemia was so bad. Nope, it's normal RA anemia. Hallelujah!

That's great Deanna!  When is your new rheumy Appt.?

That is wonderful, Deanna! I am happy to hear that what was making more stress on you mentally, is no longer. I mean when we got all kinds of DX's we tend to dwell on them, especially one that was considered life terminating.

Here to hoping the next RD is a GOOD ONE and he knows more than the last RD.

My appointment is the beginning of April. It will be after my surgeries. I've heard this doctor's name a lot and I'm actually going against my lawyer's recommendation because I'm more interested in getting better.

This hematologist seemed to think that there was no reason I couldn't be on MTX or the biologics at least from her viewpoint. That is most encouraging.

Great news Deanna.  I know how scary it is with all the meds and what is causing the anemia.  Sounds like a new rheumy is a good idea too.  It's always nice when you actually hear things about your doctors from other sources, makes you feel a little more secure.
