High ANA reading - info anyone? | Arthritis Information

Hello to everyone who may read this post.  First of all, I'm sorry you're having to check the arthritis message boards at all... which indicates you have pain somewhere that you must deal with daily.

My question is about a high ANA (antineuclear antibody) reading.  I had slightly elevated readings all last year, but a month ago it was 1:640.  How many of you have had this test, and who among you have had a high ANA reading?  Can it indicate general arthritic inflammation activity??

(Yes, I know high ANA is a first warning sign for Lupus, but the Rheum. I went to said I had no other indicators for Lupus... she basically brushed me and my concerns right out her door).

I have felt REALLY poorly the past few months, which is why I asked my general doctor to check the ANA, and when it was so high, she sent me to the Rheumatologist.  I was diagnoised with MS 10 years ago, but it has not progressed in any outward way... I just have chronic fatigue, some dizzy eye stuff... and "foggy brain" syndrom!

Any info you may be able to send my way would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,   Suzi
