Has anyone else got their August Arthritis Today yet??  My rd gave me one yesterday and there is  an interesting article on new breakthroughs for Arhritis.  One is where they harvest stem cells from your body grow them in the lab, put them back into your body and this could cure you.  They said instead of repairing the whole system they can repair the faulty gearbox with stem cells.  They have done experiments with JRA, lupus, scleroderma, and treatment resistant RA!!!  They have had very positive results.  They take the stem cells from your own bone marrow!!!    It may not be a cure for everyone, but even if it helps some of the people that would be wonderful!!!!!!!

ps they are experimenting with modifying genes to prevent ra from occuring, personalizing treatment instead of hit or miss treatment, recovered caritlage,, and even earlier detection of ra and oa!!!

meme38523.9227662037WOW! Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing! I thought about subscibing to Arthritis Today. I think I just might do that now. I love hearing about this stuff. Gives hope to people with RA in the future which is so great :)

I thought maybe we could read the article at the Arthristis Foundation website; but no such luck. You can however order it there.

I'm not sure if I can find the exact issue Meme's referring to....but you can read some issues.

If you go to your rd's office they usually have free copies of Arthritis Today to give to their patients.  Taht is where I get mine all the time.         & nbsp;         & nbsp;         & nbsp;         & nbsp;         & nbsp;         meme
