Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how to go about getting the handicap tag to park in those parking spaces?  Gosh I need it.  I tried for so long not to get one but now is the time.

Lisa

Call your motor vehicle office for information..

Here in NY you go to your village clerks office and get a form for your dr to fill out. Its very simple then take that form to the village clerk and they give you the tag.  Tags are either temporary (for 6 months or less) or permanent.

You can get this information on line by googling  Handicapped Parking Tags and adding your state abbreviation.

In (this part of) Kansas you just take your info with you to the DMV, they issue it there.... Jen10139123.3083912037

OH - that's what you're talking about!

I was picturing all of folks in wheelchairs, scooters, and on canes and crutches or with decided limps like me  - playing tag. . .  It really was an interesting thought!

Ya know Karen..........only you.

GrammaSkittles would know about this one. She just got her tag the other day. Lizzie!! come out come out where-ever you are!!!

In WY you just go to the Department of Transportation, motor vehicles section online and download the form.  Your Dr has to mark temp. or perm. disabled and sign it then I just took it in and got my placards.

Easiest way is to go to your Department of Motor Vehicles, print the form, take it to the doctor (and, yes have him mark permanent), have him sign it. Then you probably have to take it down in person to get the permit. But at least here, they have a special number to get you through fast.

I love having mine. It makes life so much easier. I had a temporary one before and got to where I didn't need it for awhile and so I didn't park in the Disabled. But on those days when I was bad, it was a gift. Now, I need it all the time. But if you have those kinds of days, don't hesitate to have one. It can be the difference between getting out or not or going some place.

Hillhoney does it again!!!

Thud. Roll...

your doctor usually writes you a prescription for it (in ohio) and then you just give it to the DMV pay your five dollar fine, and you have it
