Any info on the drug plan @ Walmart? | Arthritis Information

I'm being prescribed more and more drugs by my Rheumy and even with good insurance I'd like to get the lowest prices possible for them. Someone told me to look into Walmart's generic plan and I did read all info available online. I still have questions and am reluctant to switch over from my current pharmacy...just seems too good to be true. So, what do you know about this?Maybe next time you go in you could stop by the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist. They are usually very helpful in explaining things. On the phone they can helpful as well.

They are just so convenient that maybe it will be worth it.

I know my mailorder pharmacy has real good deals if you buy generic especially. Still reduced on name brands but.....mail it and wait, keep track and if you need something like right now, well then you go to Walmart right?

We are shopping even with our insurance at Walmart as they accept certain insurance companies and have a reduced cost. Have to use your insurance card.

I got to find out now what they are doing here as well.

You sound so nice and friendly...wish you were the one I had to deal with!

You wouldn't *believe* how many times I got put on hold attempting to talk via phone to the pharmacy! As far as stopping by for a chat with the pharmacist, afraid I'll be waiting for a **long while**. This pharmacy is always backed up with *tired, frustrated people* overflowing into other departments. This is the primary reason I've avoided them up till now.

Me too, Spiders's Mom!  Nice pharmacists if they ever look up, but arrogant, lazy clerks.  I can't deal with them.Oh no. Well that's awful.
Our is sometimes loaded, like around lunch.

Wow not my experience at all. Of course I live in the tundra. Hmmmm.

The "tundra"? Peaks my interest! I'm slap dab in the middle of Snowbird Country...a part of Florida filled to overflowing (literally) with retirees from the north. It can get ugly here trying to get a parking spot at the grocery store!

BRICH...good to see you! Hope you're feeling well.

I am on prednisone for PMR, but that is cheaper.  I got 100 tablets of 5 mg for .00.

Methetrexate is not generic so it cost a month.  Once I find out when/how long/ etc., I will probably order that form Canada since it will be a bit cheaper.

When you call Wal-mart to fill your prescription, you do get a recording to filling numbers, etc., but if you wait on the line or push a button a live person shows up.

I find my Wal-mart to be really good.  The one pharmacist even called the doctor and asked if I could take a cheaper drug.  She had prescribed a 8 antibiotic and I told him I had taken something cheaper and he called and she said he could change it to one that was .00.  I really appreciated the extra effort he put in for me.

I suppose it will vary from store to store on what type of service one will receive.    Mary
