I wasn't sure where to post this question because Lupus Anticoagulant
doesn't mean you have lupus. About 1/2 the people with it don't have the
diagnosis.
Anyway, LA causes you to make clots and I found out because I was
having high fevers, I was really tired and having muscle pain in my legs.
Turns out I was loaded with clots in both my legs and lungs. I got lucky I
guess, because the ones that I had thrown to my lungs were all in the
best possible location, but there were a lot of them.
I'm on blood thinner and now that I've been diagnosed with the LA, they
know why I formed the clots. I probably have to be on coumadin forever.
But luckily I have a sharp doctor (not my rheumy) who caught this before
anything bad happened.
Anyone else here have this?
I actually have PA not RA but this seems to be the most active thread so I
posted here.
I'm looking for someone else with this.

My father had antiphospholipid syndrome, because he also had kidney + arthritic symptoms he was (for a short time) misdiagnosed as having Lupus. He even attended a Lupus support group, that's when he realized something was wrong. He was a heavy set man in his late 60s in a room filled with rail thin women in their 30s. He said it made him feel uncomfortable . . . and my mom didn't like it either.

That shows us there are wonderful doctors out there who will keep on digging for the correct Dx.
