Accupressure??? Anyone?? | Arthritis Information

I woke up today and my wrists were aching and were "locked". I could barely dress myself. I workout with a trainer on Tues and Th. I went to the gym and my trainer told me she knew what to do. She pressed on a "pressure point" on the left side of my elbow and it killed. She held it for about 30 seconds and then really pushed into it. I felt a tingling in my fingers. My wrist completely unlocked and I had no pain. The joint is still a bit sore but it was complete relief.

What is up with this. Who do I find to work on me and find pressure points for other joints? Isn't that crazy.

Usually I would take more prednisone and some advil. This is a much better alternative for me. I just don't want to get ripped off by someone who think they can "cure" me with a cleanse!!

Have you tried a chiropractor?  Mine does some pressure points like that and "cracks" my wrists and ankles for me as well!  It has never relieved all of my pain but it helps as I have an ankle that won't stay in place.

Wow, well that trainer's a keeper!

Ask her what the technique is called (Shiatsu? Theraputic touch? Acupressure? etc) then you can get a better idea on who you'd go to - she may even have recommendations for you.

They only thing I worry about with these therapies is a rebound flare.
