sick all the time | Arthritis Information

Has anyone found that since their dx, they are sick with cold, stomach flu or URI more frequently than before they were dx?  I seem to be sick at least once a month.  It is reeking havoc on my work life.  Anyone else experience this?  Anyone have any suggestions?

I've been a lot LESS sick than I used to be. But part of that is that when it comes to being around sick people, I've gotten kind of rude. If I sit next to someone who's coughing, I move. If someone sneezes near me, I turn around and close my eyes. I use my own pen, never one from a store. I wear gloves in stores. I wash my hands every time I come into the house. It really does work. I have found the opposit, I haven't been sick but with 1 sinus infection in the 14 months since I started MTX.  (And I work in a Dr's office!)

OK, what am I doing wrong?  I am sick all the time.   I do have little ones in daycare, which I suspect is part of it, but dang.  I mean, like at minimum once a month, sometimes 2-3 times.  It sucks!

It's probably the medication suppressing your immune system, rather than the RA.  I have also found the opposite...I haven't had a cold or the flu for 7 years but I only take NSAIDS. BirdieJ39130.3556597222
