I don’t think I can take any more of this | Arthritis Information

Hi again. Well I went to the rheumy. She doesn't know what to say about my fever. As far as my CRP being 10.7, she recommends weight loss, adding fish to my diet 2x a week, and exercise. I am probably about 20 lbs overweight, which is because I have been sick for over a year and can hardly make it through my workday, let alone exercise *sigh*. Says my achille's pain and heel and ankle pain is plantar fascitis (I don't agree with that) and that I do NOT have fibro. but probably do have CFS. Says my low back pain is because I am hyperextensive. She did not run any blood tests. Did not ask me back for a follow up. She said she didn't think I have anything she treats.

Here's the kicker....she called Mayo to get me in. They won't take me because I have had fever for over a year!!!

Real sory your not getting the help you need. Don't give up. Hang in there.

Awww I am so sorry to hear that. I think most of us have been at the ends of our rope at one time or another too and know exactly where you are coming from. Like Lovie said hang in there.

Would it be at all possible to go to another rheumy for a second opinion?

My fever runs from 99.5 to 101. Off and on throughout the day, every day.

I am all for trying another rheumy, I just don't want to feel stupid if I don't have rheumy related issues. She told me she didn't think I had anything she treats?

I don't think it helped my case that I was having a really good day the day I saw her. If she could have seen me Sat. nite, or especially last nite....horrendous pain in low back, achille's tendon, right wrist, ankles, ribs...I could go on and on...

I would appreciate any suggestions. I just don't even know what to do now.

Thanks everyone.

thanks.

Doxi - We have to look at finding a good doctor as part of our disease.  We all have troubles with that.  Change doctors.  You have to.  You need someone to take you seriously !  Sometimes you need a referral, sometimes not, depends on your insurance.  Don't give up

I don't know about some of those tests but I had previously tested neg. on ANA and I had a slightly elevated SED rate once during the past year but nothing too significant.

thanks!

I agree, look for an infectious disease doctor.  There are all sorts of things they will look for.  Why did your doctor say no to the lymes?
