This is the first time my wrists have flared so bad.  I could not even pick up my chihuahua Foxy this morning.  Since they have been flaring so bad, does this mean that my wrists are going to continue to give me problems?  They make everything so hard to do, even walking as it hurts to use the cane so much.

Do u use wrist splints, Roxy?  That may help if you don't use them already.

My wrists have been a HUGE problem with me. I can't hold a magazine long enough to get through an article. When I first went on Enbrel last May I felt great.

The pain has returned in my wrists in the last two months and is constant. Sleeping is again difficult (find it hard to pull the cover around me) and in the morning they are extremely fragile.

Today they feel especially bad.

I don't know, I don't seem to have flares anymore but now I am in constant pain or on a new med that works up to a certain point and then fails. Very depressing.

Hopefully you are in a flare and it's a matter of time til you are feeling better.

Good luck!My wrists are awful and it makes everything difficult.  I am an Optician and my hands are so swollen and I shake so bad and I can't bend my wrists, I can hardly pick up a screw anymore.  I am afraid I will not be able to do my job for very much longer.

If you don't have wrists splints, try just wrapping them.  Do you have any of the lidoderm patches? I put those under my splints and it seems to take the edge off a bit.
Hopefully it is a flare Roxy. I had probs with my left wrist for months & was considering taking serious action.
The weather here in the southern hemisphere is warmer now, maybe that is what is helping but my wrist & RA pain has been practically absent for a few weeks.   Still very tired & have no energy but bones are quite good.   I always found a splint the best for my wrist.
I had some given to me a few years ago, they have a piece of reas. solid metal in them & find they work much better than the more modern ones that I have. It would cut down the flare time as well - still would have to take painkillers but it helped a lot.   Your weather will be quite cold at present so hopefully when it warms up your pain levels will go down.

Sorry Roxy about your wrists. Mine were reallllllllllly hurting too for a little while then it went on to my hips. So hopefully yours will travel on out and hit the road jack and dont ya come back no more no more no more no more............

Bad wrists here too, like hessaline I cant hold a magazine,  or a book. feeding the baby is hard.  Cant write at all any more, not even a recognizable signature. I drive with my hands through the steering wheel, because I can't take any bending.  Also cant pull the covers up. This just plain sux.

Hopefully Roxy its just a flare... although every time a new area hurts for me, it stays.  I was stunned when my jaw went.

YUK  Not much good news.  Well at least they are better.  I am going to Medicare today to apply.  I think I can use the cane.  The overall flare is better.  I never had such pain in my wrists.  This disease just gets worse and worse.  I always think I have peaked out on the pain.  Anyway, for today - it is  better.  Thanks Guys.  I am going to try braces !

My wrists come and go with the pain. They flare, I put on the wrist splints for awhile and they seem to get better. I've gone through times when they've been really bad and others that they are almost normal.

Try wearing the athletic wrist braces at night when you are sleeping. And, use them when you are doing any kind of lifting etc. Use the wraparound braces that come for computers when you need more dexterity and compression gloves for computers and small tasks.

Definitely try the parafin baths and just make sure you include those wrists. I also use the wrist braces with my cane and when I drive.

Also, exercise your hands by moving them. There are some exercises that do help your wrists.
