I recently bumped from 10mg to 5mg of pred. Since being bumped down I have not been as hungry or do not eat but once a day just because I know I need to eat something.
This happened to me the last time when I was took off the pred and I would literally forget to eat and was hardly ever hungry.
I have lost 7 pounds since Jan. I was weighing in at 162 now I am at 155. 155 seems to be my key #
Does anyone else not eat when they decrease their pred?
Nope...only thing that I get it a moon face, sleepless nights and I eat like a horse, pig and elephant put together....
If you are saving your snacks for later and don't tell me...it will probably be gone when you are looking for it....
Not until I am on the lowest dose I can get on does my appetite go down and all the other symptoms fade.

You haven't ever had it, if you don't know what it is
Moon face is affectionately known as as side effect of Pred, generally high doses. It makes your face look like a basketball, very round and swollen. it is a very distinctive look. Lori Moon face is where your face gets round, and looks fat, but not like a fat persons face.
When I was taking pred. I also ate like a pig,horse,cow,etc. I have gained so much weight like 40 lbs and refuse to take it anymore. That and the fact I thought my heart was going to burst thru my chest and my eyes bulge out of my head. I hate that stuff. I know it gives lots of people good results but the side effects are not for me. C Ok here is a picture of me and my moon face. your face doesnt look "moon-like" to me. Remember the little girl from the poltergeists movie? In the third version her moon face was severe.. google her. She passed away from sort of auto immune disease of the bowels shortly after
oh it is moon faced... my RD told me so He was not so nice about it either, he included it in my list of side effects from me being on the pred from where my GP let me be on it for a year.I had the same problem with lost appetite when I dropped to 6mg of Prednisone ... I lost 15 pounds in three months, and looked horrible. My doctor bumped me up to 20mg, and I couldn't stop eating. Now I'm down to 10mg, and my appetite is normal. I started on Humira last week, and hope it will allow me to resume weaning from the evil prednisone without losing my appetite again.
How long does the moon face take to show up??? And what are *bad* side effects of pred? Ah ok thanks, I guess I don't take enough Prednisone to get the moon face, or else it doesn't happen in men...
I already posted about how I have skin that's actually CLEARING up, instead of breaking out, but I'm also getting some weird little chest pains. BUT I'm about off the pred...so I'm not *too* worried about it. My hands however, are puuuffffyyyyy, does that usually go along with the moon face?? I'm so new at this.... Can't figure out where my moon face is....
