Eye Twitch - AGAIN | Arthritis Information

Alright. What the feck is going on. I posted a while back about how my eye twitches CONSTANTLY and I don't know why. Then when I started hurting more and more and more and having to take pain pills for it........it stopped. Yay. Yeah well, I haven't been taking anything for pain cause I've been alright, but now the pain is coming back...I'm down to 5mg of pred a day, and the pain has rushed in with it. And lo and behold, so has the eye twitching. Only this time, its worse. This time, a GUEST AT THE HOTEL SAW IT. >.< Argh!!!!! I must look like a fruit loop.  So what the crap. Does that even make sense that my eye would twitch in relation to my pain???I think the eye twitches are like hiccups - just a nuisance. Unless you need new glasses and the twitch is from muscle strain (different kind of twitch).I need glasses. Hahaha I can't read CRAP. I stick my nose right up to the screen sometimes.........bleh. Maybe that's part of it?Eye twitching can be caused by stress. If something big is coming up I can depend on my eyelid to start going crazy on top of the stress about what's coming up.
Deidrewell that seems to be my natural state of mind. So that could explain it too. LOLAh, you know you're just a big flirt.  Winking at everyone and hoping you'll get lucky.

Katie, As a licensed Optician, and having practiced for 14 years, prior to RA. I can tell you without a doubt, that your eye twitch is stress related. Diedre is absolutely right with her post. In my practice, I saw alot of patients having eye twitches but, nothing ever serious.

Stress related, and it makes sense that your pain medicine would also reduce your stress level...therefore less nervous twitches.

Thanks hun :)  That makes me feel tons better. I think it bothered me so much because it went on for MONTHS non-stop, every day. However, I was MEGA stressed in those months too!! And now I'm just in pain a lot, so that doesn't surprise me really. Now that I think hard about it, it usually stops when I'm at home, about to go to bed. Why? Cause I'm finally relaxed!! LoL

I got confused - are you going to bed with Michael J. Fox?  Well I've always heard there's more fun on board when there's extra motion in the ocean!

Dumb question - did you drop your Predisone too fast?  That could cause the tics.

I had that I twitch thing for a while which I thought was related to the Aleve - that I apparently couldn't read the bottle and was taking way more than the 2 allowed per day.  You're not on Aleve are you?  My reaction to that scared me to death.

No, I did the pred taper nice and slow. *sigh* I think it's just part of me now. The thing I have to get over, is being worried that everyone is staring at my twitchy eye. MOST of the time, no one can even see it. But I get all blushy and nervous. LoL
