Well the rheumy couldn't get me into Mayo, y'all know that. So when I had talked to Mayo, they told me to have my family doc. refer me to Internal Med. and they gave me an ID#. Well my doc's nurse called today and said I did not qualify for Internal Med. Something about doctors quitting and so many waiting?

Bummer.

Don't you just hate that...It is like...what are we to do when the very people we need to see aren't willing to see us...or the hospitals are so short staffed...we can't get in until...we are on our last leg.

I hope you get to see someone soon...praying for you.

doxigal - just curious to why you couldn't get into the Mayo??  I went actually just got back from the one in Minnesota thanks to my rheumy.  Keep trying girl it is sooooo worth it.  Hugs and good vibes.

What a week last week was! I was denied, then told my family doc could refer me to Internal Med at Mayo so when they called to refer me (I even had a Mayo ID #)they were told, no again.

Something about not qualifying because of my fever. It is not high enough (between 99.5 and 101) and that it has been ongoing too long (over a year now). Isn't that something. The ironic part is that I am a state away from MN.

Anyway, saw my family doc on Monday. He was more than willing to run blood tests (the rheumy I saw did no bloodwork) and said "you need to see another rheumatologist". I am going this Friday...wish me luck!

PS-btw...I am really scared. What if, again, they don't find anything? I think I am more afraid of that than what they could find?

Thanks everyone!

Wishing you lots of luck Friday.  Being scared is normal - the unknown is a very scary place.  It'll be okay though - we'll be holding you hand.  Sending gentle hugs and good vibes.
