Does RA attack the major joints like Hips and Shoulders?

I don't mean to sound redundunt. Just looking for some answers.

Thanks for your answer

CJames

Yes, it can. It's less common than the smaller joints, but it def. can. absolutelyMy first major put me down and out flare was in my right shoulder and as the time had gone my hips bother me now and then but sometimes I think it's because my knees and feet make me walk funny so they (hips) get used differently (does that make any sense?).  Both of my shoulders are now involved.  Hugs and good vibes.  CJames did he say why he didn't think it was RA in your shoulders?  Hugs and good vibes.Hi cjames. From what I've read it can 'attack' almost anywhere on your body.  This is the strangest stuff! Most definitely. And in my experience, the bigger the joint the bigger the pain.Anywhere that there is a connection of two bones, you can have an effect from RA. It can cause jaw stiffness and pain, sore throat, even chest pain at the sternum. Fun huh? So yeah, absolutely the shoulders, hips, neck and back are all tafgets as well.My first experience was my knee, then my other knee, then one wrist, then the other wrist, now my hips.  My fingers are fine.  In me it seems to have affected the larger joints and not the small ones.    yes the ra can affect the shoulders and yes it hurts so bad i told my husband  i don't know what a dislocated shoulder feels like but this pain is probley close   it keeps me awake when mine flares up.       hope you get to feeling better.Hi there,

I'm really "new"; but I can tell you that my hips and shoulders
actually give me the MOST pain.

My shoulders also keep me up some nights and I have to keep
changing sides, all night long.   Sometimes brushing my hair makes
my shoulders just ache.

Hips are also a huge issue and were the first joint affected for me.

So there you go. I think this disease does whatever it wants!!

Take good care. Feel better soon.Same here, My hips and shoulders give me The most pain. It's become a real trick to get comfortable sometimes...Especially at night. There's gotta be a way..I dont think that there is any part of the body it doesnt affect. You know, that's actually true - I think it can even get to your heart and organs - however that is VERY rare. But just FYI, yes....I think you're right. HEALTHY FULL BODY SUPPORT FOR SWEET DREAMS!
