my bit of happiness | Arthritis Information

Finally after months, 8 in all, my daughte rhas found a car and we went to look at it yesterday in the cold and blowing/blinding snow. SHe called and stated that her bfriend found a car in the paper and we need to go see it asap. SO she gave me the number and I called and no answer...why, because she was calling too! lol

WE went immediately, drove it around the block and then we walked inside the woman's house  and she was on the phone,. 3 other people were wanting to look at it so my daughter took the cash out of her wallet and set it on the table. IT was a proud moment for me. She did it. SHe saved her money after working every bit of overtime and days she could while being editor of a paper, editor of the yearbook, working full time and preparing a slide show for graduation.

This probably has not much to do with the fact that I suffer daily due to RA and all my erosions, but then again maybe it has everything to do with it. Afterall ,she has known no other life than me being ill and in bed, suffering, tears and medication failures, Dr. Appts., hospitalizations, hair falling out, mom not being able tyo do this or that or help out at school or go on trips with her class cause I was extremely ill. She missed out on a nuclear family and overall not the "regular life". She made it ok through everything she has gone through.

Am I proud?..you better believe it. Am I happy, of course ( other than the worry that she now has a vehicle in what appears to be the dead of winter and accidents are daily around here). With the help and guidance of her bfriend ( not her dad or her brother), she was able to obtain a car and pay cash for it. A nice one...TOyata Corolla I believe nad yes we did all the checks on it and the woman had maintenance papers on it and even if it just lasts a short while she has her car and I do not have to take her everywhere in the middle of the night when she gets off work, to school and back and all the running teens are so into.

This is my happy time cause now I get a life of my own,but I have to add, it really feels like the "empty nest " thing is coming on. lol

BTW: today is my son's bday. He is 27. I have not heard from him in over a year. His dad states he is working and doing ok though.
