I AM FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Arthritis Information

I am free at last! WE got the car insurance and the plates today. It  took me about 20 minutes to try and get the old license plate off though and I ended up having to cut it away from the bolt on one side. One bolt I got off ok after I sprayed WD40 on it and twisted the plate all around. I thought my daughter was going to jump right out of her skin while she waited and watched me wrestle with that piece of tin!!!!!!!!!!!

Now she has a car and I am relieved of "taxi duty" ! Thank goodness, this week her shifts end at 3 A/M.

What will I ever do with all this "empty nest" time?????? I am sure I will think of something! *wink*

I am anxiosly awaiting the time my kids can drive themselves.  Today my daughter did the written part of her driving test.  Her driving part is the first week of April.  She is 23!  Now she just has to get herself a car.  My son is still waiting.  His girlfriend is making him get his license. He is 21!  I will be so glad (and paranoid) when they start taking themselves places.  I'm sure I'll find something to do with all the extra time.

It is all scary. My daughter already totaled my T-bird ( a 97) and that cost her cause it was over a year before she got her little red car which she had 3 months. My daughter has ADD so it is always a concern, but she is s an ok driver...I have seen worse!

It is a new freedom and I really like not having to drive her everywhere. Next thing to do is get mom's car worked on after being such a workhorse taking my daughter everywhere.

THis is what I have worked toward all her life, getting her to the point of being responsible and independent. ( Also, my worry is a bit less because every waking free second she has is spent with her bfriend, so I know she is safe and taken care of. If she were alone, it would be an entirely different story).

Pammy416 is the age you can get a driver's license alot higher in Australia? I was really nervous when oldest got hers at 16, but she's pretty responsible, she's a volunteer EMT and they let her drive the ambulance! The younger one just turned 17 and isn't interested in getting her license, hasn't driven all winter because it scares her to be in control of all that metal. She spotted the moose crossing the road before I did the other night, I don't know which was worse, seeing that big animal in the headlights or her sreaming in my ear.
