Do others have a sweet tooth like I do - I think I would need detox to give up sugar and chocolate. Is it possible that with the fatigue we get with RA the sugar gives us a quick energy boost. I know it is better to give blood sugar a slow steady rise instead of a quick boost - is this RA or an addiction?
Well I definately have a problem with sugar and I tink for me the problem is addictions. However I do know that when i am exhausted and trying to keep going at work, I will eat sugar for the distraction from pain, and for quick energy. Of course, the sugar crash and weight gain are no good at all. :-)
I'm trying to focus this week on trying to cut out sugar from my diet.
Hi, I read that sometimes, an overwhelming sugar addiction can be linked to Candida, which can be linked to RA - might be work looking into. I have not had any sugar for 2 years and no cheese either and OH MY I miss them SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD!!! You are so strong!!!I have a strong addiction to sugar too. I can't have caffinee, so when I get fatigued, I crave the sugar. I also read in the past that sugar help with immediate pain releif. Maybe that is why we crave it.I'm 2 weeks into a 3 week detox which involves no sugar, fruit, dairy, gluten, nightshades, caffiene, alcohol, fermented things, processed things, or red meat. I don't know if it helps my RA but I do know I am buzzing with energy! Plus, the energy stays more even throughout the course of the day. I thought the detox would be hard but there's only been a few rough patches. Mostly it's easy.I crave sugar alot.
I keep buying sweets.
Even now I can feel my body wanting sugar.
Starting to get scared, don't wanna get diabetes as well as RA!
I worry about the diabeties too. Gimpy, what are you doing/eating for your detox? I really need to detox too. Are you just eating ish & veggies?Cassie - Are you taking pred? It makes many people crave sugar. I gained 30 pounds on it. I was sugar crazy - I lost the weight but still every time I take pred. I crave sugar
