What is this???? | Arthritis Information

A friend has RA.  She went to the doctor and is now taking Humira, methotrexate by injection, got OOFFF the prednisone, after months, but now must go back on it because she is in so much pain. What's not working? We take all of these meds and still hurt? Don't get it! (I'm feelingbetter, though)Sorry hurts. That is the RA monster. It comes and goes even when you take all the medicine and follow the rules. Sometimes it seems without rhyme or reason.

As a newby, I'm learning about that RA monster.  Needless to say, it is a lesson I'd just rather go without.  Hope your friend is feeling better in short order.

Yeah, hurts I understand what you are saying. I took my Humira last week, and I did not even feel like it helped the body parts that I was hoping it would help take the pain from. I know it is working still, because my back/neck/shoulders do not hurt nor get as stiff when the Humira is working.

I just do not understand it either and I have had this all my life.

Contributors? Stress, what we eat, don't eat? , The water? the Air?? Mine came on after heart surgery. What factors influence this stuff?
