OMG!! Hubby done it AGAIN!! | Arthritis Information

So, last night I was sitting here playing my game. Hubby yells back here to me from the living room sounding kinda upset and saying it was my fault. So, I go up there to see what he is babbling about. He tells me he is overdrafted on his checking account, and if I had not left my wallet at home and paid for some of the stuff, he would not have been overdrafted. SO... I just walked off and went back to playing my game.

So... he logs on to the internet to check how many overdraft fees he has incurred. Well, as of last night none. So... I told him to take from my checking account and deposite into his in the morning to keep from get overdraft fees took out.

Well... he goes to the bank checks his balance and it says he is 2 in the NEGATIVE!! Yes, you got it right... 8 of it is overdraft fees.

Now, he is going to have to use the credit card to build his check account back to where it needs to be.

Now that I think about it all... it would not have done me any good to pay for anything over the weekend because my check did not get deposited until Monday. And he was to be just depositing enough money to cover the bills, which he had been doing, but for some reason has not done in a couple of months. He does not keep up with his checking balance and usually overdraws.

So... as I look at it... was really not my fault sooo....If his account is normally in good standing, have him call the bank and see if they will have some of the charges.  I just had an issue where I made a ,000 adding error, NOT in my favor and bounced several checks.  The bank paid the checks and when I called them they reduced half of the fee's for me since its the first time I ever bounced anything at the bank!!

Hi Michele,

Thanks for th idea, but Nope no chance in that. Hubby has done this quite a few times over the last 2 years. He is just to darn lazy to keep up with his checkbook and then when he does get it upto date he guess-timates how much he has left to spend.

He needs to go back to just depositing the money for the bills and keeping the rest, that way he knows just how much money he has left. But then there is the "if he has money readily available" he will spend it faster than if it is sitting in his checking account.

He is going to have to do better with his money. Because when that bigger house payment and extra utilities come around in the next month or so. He is not going to have room for errors like this. And my SSI check will not be able to keep digging him out, as that money is for my meds and possibly this new house payment.
