I have had Atypical Plantar Fasciitis (arch pain) for 4 yrs now. It was recently suggested to me by several people that I might have an autoimune disease such as RA. Has anyone ever heard of PF or foot pain as a symptom of RA? THanks, Hilary

I come and go on this message board off and on alot. I have had RA for 4yrs now. It's still hard for me to say that, I hate it but have come to terms with it on most days!
No to your answer on your arch pain. But, yes to foot pain! My RA started in my left foot and then my right!!! But mine started in my toes and my pads then down the side of my feet. I went to a podiatrist and did tons of things kept getting worse and worse, finally I could barely walk because of my feet then the RA just worked it's evil way up to my knees, elbow, shoulders and fingers. My family doctor gave me a RA factor blood test and that's how it was discovered.
I don't want to scare you but, stop fooling around with what it could be? Go to your family doctor and have him do a bunch of blood work up on you, an RA factor blood test. The sooner you find out the faster your pain be controlled!
I tried all the meds to go through the so called protocols. Then finally got put on the TNF Blocker Humira. Humira was my miracle Drug! I was on it for 3 1/2 years now. I have taken myself off all my drugs for 6months now, meanwhile cleansed my body for preparing for pregnancy after talking about it for so long, finally!
Being off the meds. have been great! Almost thinking I had been free'd. What a joke up to this last month, yes, my feet are back hurting worst them ever before. But, this time it is only right under my toes. It feels good to stretch them out but they are so swollen. It really sucks because if I don't pregnat soon I will be in horrible pain.

Hi, I'm new and our 6yo daughter has suspected 'some type' of arthritis-possibly... Her pain started in her feet, bone scans showed 'hot spots' and she was treated on iv antibiotics for osteomyelitis - which it wasn't. prioir to ths we had her at the age of three to a 'foot doctor' for her arch pain and she was issued with orthodics for her shoes - obviously her foot and leg pain never went away so I threw these away after about 12 months.
Now her pain has moved all over her body - and so have the 'hot spots' and inflammation on an MRI.
I don't know Hillary as I don't even know what my daughter has for sure as her joints don't actually swell, her diagnosis is not adding up but all I know is her pain is so severe right now that it appears to be like labor pain!!! and she is six!!!
I suppose yuou can only get checked by a DR and good luck. from my experience so far with doctors it can be a long path to a diagnosis so try and take one day at a time and I will try and take my own advice too. all the best.

there are new test for ra a simpli blood test can tell witch tipe of authritis she has the [pain is unbearable some time i cant sleep or even stand nothing helps ] burning tingeling drives me nuts
